Review of Blow Out (1981) by Michael T — 22 Sep 2008
In this film DePalma sends up Hitchcock while secretly challenging Godard and finds time to incorporate elements of the classic BLOW-UP into the film. This was one of Travolta's better roles before he faded into his pre-PULP FICTION obscurity.
Nancy Allen (still married to DePalma at the time) is good as Travolta's doomed love interest; Dennis Franz plays a sleazy private investigator; and John Lithgow plays an assasin trying to cover up traces of an elaborate conspiracy.
Worth watching if you apreciate a good thriller.
