Review of Blow (2001) by Andrew W — 09 Apr 2014
Blow is the story of George Jung (Johnny Depp), a hungry average joe that goes from a petty pot dealer to the leading importer of cocaine in the United States. This film is able to stand out from a plethora of similar drug movies by presenting its characters as brash, prosperous individuals chasing the American Dream, rather than helpless addicts.
The audience is pulled into the lifestyle of drug smuggling and easy money, following Jung as he ascends in a world perpetuated by greed and betrayal. Blow is a homerun that should be a top priority for anyone who has yet to see it.
