Review of Bloody Sunday (2002) by Codie E — 12 Apr 2008
A powerful and painful exploration of the events on Bloody Sunday. Greengrass' technique perfectly suits the subject matter, putting us right into the heart of the troubles. His freedom also runs to the performances, all of which feel real and unbounded; particularly Nesbitt, who will probably never be better.
My only criticism would be the at times forced emotional attachment we are supposed to have to some of the characters, which doesn't always work.
