(1986) Bloodsport.
MARTIAL ARTS.
Hit-or-miss, breakthrough Jean Claude Van Damme film which was known for bumping Swartzenegger's more superior film "Running Man" off the number one spot and promoted his name as box office potential, even though the film is thinly tame and repititive in today's standards! Story has Van Damme entering into some silly tournament with it's goal was it to beat Asian heavy weight actor Bolo Yeung for putting his friend/ brother into hospital. The fights are nothing new since the muscles from Brussls originally studied ballet and never had any training to be a fighter, but as a result of this film did solidify Van Damme's use of doing the splits!
2.5 out of 4.
