Review of Bloodsport (1988) by Yves V — 24 Jan 2013
The soundtrack, the training montages, the atmosphere during the kumatai bound by the 80's contemporary film style make this a classic in the action movies genre. Bolo makes for a scary but likable villain with classic one liners like "You Are Next!" and is impressively fit for a 51 year old.
In all of its cheesiness, Bloodsport is one of my favorite movies of all time and solidified Van Damme as my boyhood idol and martial arts megastar world renowned.
