Review of BloodRayne (2005) by Tom R — 08 May 2010
Oh yes... it's really bad. Despite having notable actors (Ben Kingsley? How did they get him?), Bloodrayne is miscast, feels rushed, and has an awful screenplay. The violence and gore should have been cool, but the action scenes that lead to them are so unconvincing.
Bloodrayne herself is a terrible protagonist. She does not say a word until 17 minutes into the movie, she sucks at fighting, and she whines sooooo much. Ben Kingsley literally sits through most of his role, Michelle Rodriguez can't decide if she has an accent, and Michael Madsen (who I actually like) wears a bad wig and doesn't look or act like a vampire hunter.
Plus there's idiotic sex scenes and nudity thrown in at the last minute. I don't know how anyone could like this movie.
