Review of Blood: The Last Vampire (2000) by Tedd L — 05 Aug 2009
This stylish anime is a solid thriller. It has touches of noir, conspiracy, and a glossy color palette that seems to make it harken to the time period in which it is set. The main character Saya is cold and ghoulish, dealing out punishment to the creatures that threaten the air force base she is tasked to protect.
It is a hunt for the covert monsters, and she carefully stalks them. A poor nurse gets caught up in the hunt, and she starts to question her faith when she sees the monsters for what they really are. A gorgeous animated treat.
