Review of Blood Sucking Freaks (1976) by Rob R — 10 Jun 2009
Similar to salo and cannibal holocaust (both of which, I believe, this preceded) but cheesier than the former and smarter than the latter. so, a nice blend of camp and intelligence. the acting was pretty freakin badass (especially by Dr.
Sardu) so many of the gags were unforgettable (the brain smoothie, penis hotdog, edible eyeball, the list goes on...) and the score was great 70's b-movie synths. the pornographic element to it makes it considerably less respectable but overall this is a creative, well-scripted, well-acted low-budget 70's horror flick that delivers the gross-out scares.
