Review of Blood Stripe (2016) by Dana L — 25 Feb 2018
Starts off strong and then get s a bit clunky, but it's ambitious, dramatic, and leaves an impression. "Sarge" represents the military "everywoman," a point of view regularly missing in returning-home-from-war movies.
But this isn' an in-your-face aftermath; it's a quiet, gentle breakdown. The acting couldn't be finer and were Knowlin famous she would have received an Oscar's nod. I turned it on by chance and was immediately engrossed.
The ending is ambiguous and slightly frustrating. The cinematography is spectacular. All the bit players, especially Rusty and Dot, help create a fine, realistic film.
