Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Jacob H — 21 Dec 2008
The plot was a bit simple in comparison to the Coen Brother's later works, but, Blood Simple is still a fine film that makes a worthy addition to any fan of the Coens. The main problem is the characters aren't memorable, and pan out more like stereotypes: "the angry husband", "the cheating wife", etc, and just don't have the memorability of the Coen's later characters.
Fortunately, the script was still acted out to good effect, making the end result enjoyable.
