Carter Burwell delivers one of the most chilling scores in the history of cinema, never have I felt so uneasy while listening to an orchestral score, it makes the movie, and it really pisses me off when people don't pay attention to the music.

I have mentioned an orchestral score with people from both t.v and film, and I feel like punching them when they say " oh, I did not even notice the music". The score is what makes this movie very good.

The films weakest point is the acting, the characters are pretty well written but the acting is very generic and maybe a little lower than generic. But this movie is Film Noir to the core, everything about it is dark.

There is humor that a lot of people probably did not laugh at. The whole film is like one long silent nightmare. The brothers do a good job with that feeling by making every sound, sound off like an explosion, it not only makes the characters jump, but the viewer jumps even more than they already are.

Blood Simple is a actually a pretty low quality film, the audio is strange and the camera is very shaky, but those mistakes can be overlooked and it even adds to it for the better. It's easy to see how this film started off their career and you can see what they still do in their debut, of course they got better as time went on.
