Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Nicholas L — 21 Oct 2012
"Blood Simple" is unexpectedly gruesome and portraits the many flaws of a so-called "perfect plan" - how hard it is to get away from a murder and to deal with guilt. It features a pretty simple setup (enhanced by 4 powerfully acted main characters) that does not develop into something excitingly new, but still manages to maintain the viewer on edge - Sam Raimi's references are delightfully obvious.
