Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Jamie B — 27 Oct 2008
Although the general consensus seems to be that the Coen's hit the ground running with this film, I think it's a clear case of one having to walk before they can run.
The film shows huge potential from it's makers, but ultimately it feels extremely dull and the obviously low budget really shows. It's not bad, it's just "not all that".
Personal enjoyment: 5/10.
Actual quality as a film: 7/10.
