Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Battle Axe O — 04 Jan 2009
Seems like kind of classic... not bad but Coens did better movies. I've seen many people whining about "Red Rock West" and how much this movie is better... True that it has some great moments and brilliant pieces of dialogue.
On the other hand it's missing some elements needed in any classic great story. There's no tension buildup and, more important, no involving characters that the viewer might get involved with (in positive or negative way).
Sorry but if it comes to Coens I will stay with Barton Fink and Millers Crossing ;).
