Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Robert C — 24 May 2011
An exceptionally good film, made all the more impressive by the fact that it is the Coen brothers FIRST.
While the basic premise is simple...everything above and beyond that is anything BUT.
It's always an (uncomfortable) pleasure to watch as the Coens develope a fairly simple plot point, into a unmercifully complicated and often horriffic mess.
Beautifully shot and well acted, it is definitely "one to see" for film buffs.
