Review of Blood from the Mummy's Tomb (1971) by John M — 06 Feb 2011
Noteworthy entry in Hammer's Mummy franchise and a better-than-average example of late-period Hammer films. The evil queen has a buxom avatar who is at once investigating the strange fashion among daddy's fellow archeologists for having ripped-out throats, even as she seems to be behind it all on some level.
The film seems to jump freely between swinging London fashions and something a generation older without rhyme or reason, and very little money was spent on effects. But you can also play "hey isn't that.
..?" with most of the large cast.
