Review of Blood Diamond (2006) by Scott B — 22 Jan 2016
Blood Diamond is not a perfect film, but I loved it all the same. It's brilliant direction and relevant themes are fantastic. Its a very intense film as well, with many scenes masterfully being both extravagant while nail biting as well.
But its the performances that truly made my jaw drop. Djimon Honsou is a very underrated actor I feel. He put everything he has into his character, and I felt his emotion and pain in all the right ways.
Jennifer Connelly also is terrific in the film, proving she still hasn't lost her touch to connect with the audience. But of course, it's Leonardo DiCaprio that steals the show.
