Review of Blood Diamond (2006) by Aj R — 26 Feb 2012
This movie went straight into my top 10, posdibly my top 5. Great characters each with their own interestining stories which intertwine to form excellent, realistic action set pieces and culminate in a heart pounding finale.
All actors involved do an excellent job making you care for their charcters, some flawed, some noble, all meaty and believable. This planted Di Caprio at the top of my favourite actors list, what a turnaround he has made from feminine man child to all action, gruff mans man.
This film is thoughtful, explosive and heart breaking. Some said Africas misery is being exploited for amusement. If they are amused by this they are sick. This movie is overwhelmingly bleak and harrowing and really opened my eyes to a situation I had no prior knowledge of.
Breath taking and unforgettable.
