Review of Blood Brothers (2011) by Shabbir T — 04 May 2012
Lighthearted action flick from WWE Studios that stars John Cena, Ethan Embry and Boyd Holbrook as three estranged half-brothers who are forced to work together in order to get their hands on their late father's fortune. It starts out simply enough with a jaunt down to Mexico to grab a bail skipper but the situation soon snowballs into a conspiracy involving criminal gangs, a kidnapped American businessman and the FBI. Despite some witty dialogue and decent chemistry between the brothers, the film is shot down by an overcomplicated plot, unlikable characters and action that will lower your pulse rather than raise it. Still, it's all in good faith I guess and there are few sights more hilarious than John Cena rocking a ten gallon hat!
P.S. Fans of Amy Smart, prepare to be disappointed. She's barely in it.
