A typical mafia story, so I didn't think it would keep me interested, but the cast was brilliant and the cinematography was top notch for me (shots of the village where the guys came from were amazing).
I didn't expect Liu Ye to play such a violent character, but he was just outstanding. He, Daniel Wu, Chen Chang and Shu Qi are the the best cast I could imagine in a Chinese movie.
