Review of Blood and Bone (2009) by Roxanne O — 18 Jun 2010
I'm an action fan, and a Michael Jai White fan, so I figured I'd give this straight-to-dvd fan, but I was realistic about what to expect. This movie was violent, almost redundantly so, but it was a great excuse to show off White's fighting skills, which was the point of the whole film anyway. I admired his character and feel like it was wasted on this movie. I love Dante Basco. He was comedy; definitely had the best lines. I will say I admired the diverse cast. You had blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians all in one film. Granted they were all trying to beat the crap out of each other, it was still nice to see.
SPOILER:
I will give one other critique though, the sorta-Easter Egg at the end of the film during the rolling credits was pointless and much more violent than anything that happens throughout the entire film.
