Review of Blockers (2018) by Jordan C — 03 Apr 2018
What initially looked like a bit of a Hollywood gap filler has turned out to be a fine tuned comedy. The storyline is concise and well scripted, following some adolescent teens hunting down sex, and refreshingly they're all young women.
While American Pie deals with the entire sexual exploits of teenagers, Blockers manages to mix this with the parenthood side. The initial pitch for the film "I look at my beautiful daughter, then realise one day she'll have a cock in her mouth" resonates throughout this movie.
With some emotional scenes covering divorcing families, life choices and some tightly squeezed balls, the film leaves audiences laughing hard and reflecting on some issues maybe closer to home.
