Review of Blitz (2011) by Christopher H — 31 May 2011
I love Jason Statham. Any new film with The Stath is an event in the Shepherd House and something to look forward to. Hell, I went out of my way to find a Uwe Boll film because Statham was the star. You know exactly what your get with a Statham film which is why 'Blitz' is a bit of a surprise.
'Blitz' can be placed alongside 'The Bank Job' as a Statham film that isn't an extension of the 'Transporter', 'Crank' mold. Its something different for the lead were his presence is put centre stage rather then his ability to kick ass. His supporting cast, Gillen, Morrisey and Considine lift the film's credibility sightly its just that its never a whole sum of its parts. Cant help think that this would have been a cracking three part drama series.
