Review of Blitz (2011) by Daniel T — 01 Jul 2011
A gritty raw hard boiled British crime thriller that offers social commentary. The plot kinda resembles the Rober De Niro flick "15 Minutes" yet with british background and less ridicule of course.
The movie moves in a slow manner yet it is still intriguing. There are some really some violent scenes that are inventively shot; cinematography stands out and adds to the viewing experience. Solid performances from the whole cast.
Statham fans maybe a little dissapointed as the movie hardly has action scenes, there is a really good chase sequence though, yet it is chance to show his talent as a serious actor.
