Review of Blitz (2011) by Daphne M — 23 Aug 2011
"A word of advice, girls. If you're picking the wrong fight... at least pick the right weapon.".
This one is really for Jason Statham enthusiasts only. While it's a nice change from his usual action that rapes the laws of physics it falls short of anything worth remembering. Some nice camera work and stylish blurring but not enough to hide the very over done story and cliches. Aidan Gillen proves to be something worth to watch with a very fun performance as the villain. Mainly the plot seemed a bit disjointed. You get a lot of side characters with their plots but they never really seem to finish or barely get started for that manner. A bit more time invested in them would have helped a lot. You do get a pretty damn good chase on foot scene that is a almost a call back to '70s cinema. Overall it felt like a TV police drama. Nothing special.
