Review of Blind Dating (2006) by Izarrudin I — 12 Jul 2007
Bind Dating is a heartfelt romantic comedy about a confident and intelligent young man named Danny (Chris Pane). He had been blind since childhood and he wanted to know if he?s a good looking guy? Why is it that difficult for him to actually go into a relationship with girls unlike his brother and protector, the limo-drive Larry who operates a sideline business in renting his limo for anyone who needs a quickie anytime of the day (Eddy Kaye Thomas).
So one day Danny decides to register himself for a risky brain surgery which if all goes well will one day let him see and if it does not, he lost half of his brain! That kind of risk to a blind man who wishes to see is a small risk to make but not to his family especially his mom and sister who had been protecting and looking after him since.
After much persusion he gets the green light and accompanied by his best friend he goes to this special clinic for a review. This is where he met a beautiful young Indian woman named Leeza (Anjali Jay). She?s the receptionist in that clinic and they seemed to hit it off on the first day they met. With hope of meeting her almost everyday their relationship blossomed into something Danny had never felt before. This is where he learned the trade of courting a girl from his unqualified brother where most of the comedy in this story came from.
Leeza though has a big secret that she didn?t have the courage to tell Danny that she?s engaged to be married. An arrangement done by her parents and as you?ll know this is the part where you won?t want to go through in any romantic comedy movie.
A story about a blind young man, wanting to see falling in love with woman who?s forbidden to love anyone else. A supportive family and a funny brother. A romantic comedy that?s worth a watch if you are a fan to this genre but if you?re not, do give it a miss as the story might bore you due to it?s predictability.
