Review of Bless the Child (2000) by Tori S — 23 Jul 2006
Starring: Kim Basinger, Jimmy Smits, Holliston Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Angela Bettis, with Ian Holm, and Christina Ricci.
Directed by Chuck Russell.
Written by Thomas Rickman, Clifford Green, and Ellen Green.
Rated R (for violence, drug content and brief language).
Running time approximately 1 hour 47 minutes.
Chuck Russell's Bless the Child is a sour, unoriginal film that swims around in its own horrid miscalculation. A wonderful cast is mistreated with frigid dialogue, lame happenings and bad special effects, all surrounded by one of the least engaging storylines ever committed to celluloid. This is a terrible film, but some of the performances were good, and I jumped a couple of times, so I suppose instead of none, it gets * (out of ****) D.
Other Opinions:
Tomato Vendor: 6/10.
nebular: "Unscary, dumb, bad acted horror flick." 0/10.
