Review of Blazing Saddles (1974) by Sean C — 03 Sep 2011
This was a movie I watched as a kid over and over. I just watched it again after a few years and was surprised at how I still know every line of dialogue. It's still really funny. You can tell that Richard Pryor, who co-wrote, was in line to play the lead.
It's too bad he apparently was too unreliable and would not show up for script meetings. Cleavon Little is really good though andI've always wondered why he never became a big star. A lot of the dialogue and just the story in general is actually still very riske for today's standards.
