Review of Blazing Saddles (1974) by Hannah M — 30 Dec 2011
Mel Brooks' silly spoof of westerns is about as lowbrow as you can get, yet it succeeds because of its genuinely funny comedy. Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder steal the film, and their performances have become models for other comedy actors.
Other Brooks regulars like Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, and even Brooks himself are able to hold their own with Little and Wilder, and are great supporting actors.
