Review of Blazing Saddles (1974) by David S — 01 Feb 2013
Blazing Saddles is a slightly overrated comedy which tends to have plenty of simple and stupid humour. This movie has made me realise that I do not enjoy nor appreciate Mel Brook's humour as much as I did when I was 10.
He is excessive without being witty, obvious without enough message and simply tries too hard. That said, Blazing Saddles is better than his other fails, such as History of the World or Spaceballs. It definitely has some solid laughs and is worth the 93 minutes.
