Review of Blast from the Past (1999) by Robin P — 31 Jan 2011
There is something so charming about this story...I just re-watched it and still love it. Any show with a "Time" element usually draws me in...so mesmerizing to me. On a serious note, even though this is a comedy, through it I can see how morally bad things have gotten in our society.
Brendan Fraser and Christopher Walken's performances are priceless...a Son and Father that spend 35 years in a bomb shelter partially due to the Father's paranoia. I remember in the early 60's my Uncle dug out a bomb shelter.
..it was a big deal back then. I am such a sucker for romance and this is the perfect love story with pretty Alicia Silverstone playing the love interest. Funny, silly, sweet and underrated, I highly recommend this movie for the pure entertainment value.
On "My Favorite Movies" & "My 5 Star Funnies" lists. DVD.
