Review of Blame It on Fidel! (2006) by Colleen C — 09 Aug 2009
I didn't want to watch this after I saw the trailer because I thought it was going to be upsetting--irresponsible parents disrupting the lives of their children, and exposing them to all sorts of dangerous situations (the protest/riot scene)--but it was well done.
It's a multi-layered film that deals with an array of issues: Communism, Catholicism, a woman's right to choose, family issues (nudity, privacy, etc.). Nina Kervel's acting is a special highlight.
