Well Blair Witch is the film the first one should have been. If I had seen this in 1999 I would have tipped my hat to it instead of hating it with a passion for so long.

Adam Wingaurd has delivered, in my opinion, the ultimate 'found footage' film that has moments of pure evil and genius. It's basically a re-hash of the original with some lovely little twists to the plot, some scares where some real thought has gone into them and some pretty amazing sound effects that keep you off guard especially when the bat shit crazy final 40 mins kick in. I know critical reviews have been mixed but I think that's down to their love of the original. As I hated the first one I had no love to honour so for my money it pisses from a great height on the original.

Character build up is pretty good. Heather from the original film's Brother finds a clip online of who he thinks to be his sister in the woods from 1999 when she went missing and goes in search of her. His friends tag along to film the journey as a documentary. They hook up with a young couple of wanna be satanists who posted the clip, to take them into the woods and then basically the nightmare begins.

It's everything the first one should have been and it actually put a huge smile on my face and for the first time in ages I didn't want the film to end. Great fun. Loved it.
