Review of Blair Witch (2016) by Darren G — 28 Dec 2016
Made an account just to review this film although I have been tempted to review others, The overwhelming oh this doesn't live up to the "franchise" is so played out. People want to live thinking the past was perfect.
Admittedly I haven't fully seen the previous Blair witch movies (or should I say I stopped watching the first one after laughing at the nonsense everyone calls groundbreaking, yet most of those people if not all have always given the first poor reviews; hence why I was never in a rush to see its predecessor) or read any books so I was going into this with very low expectations given the horrible reviews the Blair witch Project comes with.
This movie for first time Blair witch watchers is a diamond in the rough and sitting home alone at night watching this was quite a treat. Simply could not stand the ridiculous reviews for this movie none of them much about the movie but constantly referencing it's "franchise" The one that never ever had any good reviews anyway(makes no sense all you people acting like this was a horrible movie compared to the original when I would argue almost 20 years later it's more genuine and scary than the original ever was even taking into account the fact that it was one of the first found footage films) don't listen to the people who were 15 or 17 at the time going out on a date and reliving that memory like it was the best moment of their lives and nothing could ever compare to it (yet when it came out not one person liked it, now it's a classic ha! PLEASEE) this is quite a good horror in a genre that is filled with laughable movies like the gallows and I think I even saw someone say go see The Witch instead, yeah go see The Witch if you want to literally fall asleep with boredom.
