Review of Blair Witch (2016) by Ben T — 19 Nov 2016
"Blair Witch"' is an ok horror film that really doesn't live up to the greatness of the original film, but is very scary, especially around the end, in its own right. I know Adam Winguard is a talented director, so I was surprised that he used many basic or cliched scares and rehashed many themes and ideas from the original film.
Granted the last 10-15 minutes of the film had a good payoff and was very effective, but there was a certain bite that was missing from this film. This is an interesting horror film and I think you should see it if you enjoyed the first "Blair Witch" film, but I would wait till you can stream/rent to experience this.
