Review of Blades of Glory (2007) by Mike S — 01 Nov 2012
This parody of figure skating and sports rivalries was a lot more fun than I expected it to be. Ferrell and Heder gave great performances as rival skaters who must work together in order to compete at all, having been banned for fighting.
There was a great comedic chemistry between the leads while Arnett and Poehler provide suitably weird villains. The film was full of funny, over-the-top sight gags and silly dialogue. This film works because it doesn't take itself too seriously.
It knows it's a light comedy and plays up to that.
