Review of Blade: Trinity (2004) by Parker R — 08 Aug 2013
In David Goyer's directorial debut into the Blade franchise, he lightens the tone considerably while approaching the story from a relatively new angle. I'm one of the few people who think that Blade: Trinity is a better film than the first Blade.
Ryan Reynolds was actually extremely entertaining, but was somewhat negated by the abysmal "performance" that was Parker Posey's "acting". It's literally painful to watch scenes featuring her.
Other than that, the acting was fairly good. Goyer introduced the human conflict element into this installment, and even though it had it's many flaws, it added nicely to the story. The action sequences took a step backwards from Blade II (by far the best of the three) and the dialogue was way to lighthearted and cheesy for a movie like this.
The villains were horribly portrayed... I mean, HHH as a bad guy who somehow manages to fight against a vampire hunter WWE style... Poor scripting. Bottom line, it's a by the book comic book/action adventure that'll keep you entertained, albeit annoyed at times.
I'd recommend it to comic book fans and people that have seen the first two.
