Review of Blade: Trinity (2004) by Brendon D — 22 Aug 2010
A definite drop in the genre and may be the worst in the series. The action sequences are still there but the movie has lost its horror/gore fest edge and that has disappointed everyone right across the board.
Blade Trinity still focuses on the same kick ass Vampire/vampire Killer known as Blade, And this time he has a better array of weaponry and it definitely adds nicely to the scenes. Unfortunately the fighting scenes lacked any blood, all the scenes lacked any blood. well there was blood but compared to what we have seen in the series it was a horrible cut down.
Now I mentioned blood a few times their but don't get the impression I am a gore fest junkie that needs blood. I know I am overly obsessed with horror films and this impression might pass off onto you, but I like a good story too, why else do I like Saw, the acting is bad in Saw. and that was what was missing here an interesting plot.
While the initial story of Blade vs Dracula is intriguing and we would all love to watch it unfortunately the build up was not there, no plot seemed to be there at all and it felt like they were filling time in until the final show down. However once we got to the final showdown the movie did a 180 turn. unfortunately it was far too late to interest many.
The movie suffers from a lack of actions scenes except the one at the end, and a lack of story and gore. However it does get a 60% because Blade still kicked ass.
