Review of Blade: Trinity (2004) by Kevin R — 08 May 2010
Sometimes the scariest monsters of them all is the one in the mirror.
Blade is getting older and so is everyone around him. The world is evolving and the internet and websites, like youtube, are not his friend. Blade would benefit greatly from his team making a youth movement. Blade, against his better judgment, accepts the aid of two young adults in his vampire hunting ventures; however, the vampires have acquired their own talent...the infamous Dracula.
"Sooner or later, the thirst always wins.".
David Goyer, director of The Invisible and The Unborn, delivers Blade Trinity. The storyline for this picture is awful and had little hope for developing into something worthwhile. The action scenes remained on par with the previous two pictures but the selection of actors was disappointing and didn't work. The cast includes Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Triple H, and Dominic Purcell.
"No fatties, they taste like Cheetohs.".
This was a very frustrating film from beginning to end. While this film did have some worthwhile sequences, the story, choice of actors, and character depiction was disappointing. The Dracula theme was awful and why did they keep the jaw opening theme from the previous film? Dominic Purcell and Triple H seemed forced on the audience and didn't fit the parts and Blade throughout the film seemed weak and easily manipulated. Overall, this is worth seeing once but easily the worst in the series.
"He's trying to kill part of himself.".
Grade: C+.
