Blade Runner 2049 was truly great! A dark, intelligent, intense, unique, emotionally resonant (often heartbreaking) and visually remarkable sci-fi film. In other words, it's anything but mainstream and I love it.
For me, the original is a masterpiece in almost every regard and is still the superior film. However, 2049 is probably as good as a Blade Runner sequel could ever be and Denis Villeneuve continues to be one of my favorite filmmakers of all time!
