Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Seve P — 24 Jan 2018
I was very nervous when I went to the theatre to see this film. I, like many others loved the original Blade Runner. I was skeptical when I first heard about it. When I found out that Denis Villeneuve was directing the film, it gave me some hope as I thought his style of film making would be well suited for this project.
In the end, he did a fantastic job. This was a beautiful movie. I loved everything about it. The cinematography was amazing. The soundtrack was perfect. Hanz Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch paid homage to the original Vangelis score without ripping it off.
If you love beautiful analog synth sounds like I do, I think you will be very pleased. Before I saw the film I really had no idea of how they could continue the story but they managed to pull it off. My only disappointment with this film was that it didn't do better at the box office.
I really can't understand why. I loved it. Do yourself a favor and see it in the theaters. It's well worth it!
