Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Mayank A — 11 May 2018
Bladerunner 2049 is a stand-alone movie and at the same time, it continues the tale started by its predecessor 35 years back, having the same theme and plot but with a brand new story to tell. The world building we get here is appropriate and goes perfectly with the storytelling on offer.
The plot is intriguing, full of suspense and pushes the boundary in asking the question on what it means to be a human, on having a soul. The movie leaves us with the same ambiguity to the answers we were seeking as the original.
The music and the cinemograph are a work of art. This is an excellent movie, with a tight plot, superb casting and performance leaving us wanting another instalment.
