Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Vincent H — 11 Dec 2017
Blade Runner 2049 is one of the best science fiction films ever made. The cinematography by Roger Deakins is Oscar worthy. Denis Villeneuve direction is incredible. Ryan Gosling as Agent K is great. His performance is very understated with small outbursts of emotion.
The film is emotionally resonant in a way that few films are. The tone and pacing match the original film perfectly, but manages to be even more interesting. The ideas expressed through the story and performances combine to create an incredible experience.
Some flaws I see many having with this film is the pace and also the non expressive nature of the characters. However the film is so confident with it's pace and also it presents its character that it was a benefit to the film.
