Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Mark E — 26 Dec 2017
If it's not too late to this this extraordinary film on the big screen, please do so.
Denis Villeneuve's masterpiece is what happens when really talented people get together and respect the audience, genre, and the previous film.
If you are new to Blade Runner are in for a treat. You can see this as a stand-alone. It's that good. If you are a long-time fan I suspect you saw it many times in the theater. I brought all my kids, my father, and saw it so many times I never got sick of it.
I know this is a late review but the movie is now out on digital (Dec. 26) and it's out on DVD on January 16th - so treat yourself to it. It's the best movie I have seen in 10 years. Every shot is crafted and the plot is fantastic.
Who would have thought that Jared Leto would have nailed this and hit it out of the park? He really did. I was never a fan of his until I saw this movie. Now he's really one of the greats. Thanks Mr. Leto for taking this role so seriously.
Denis Villeneuve is a true artist. You can tell he crafted every scene, shot, and angle by looking at the very best still photographers of our time.
Thank you for this and taking both the fans and new fans so seriously by not wasting our time.
