Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Kasidy%20 L — 16 Dec 2017
Bladerunner 2049 is a nearly perfect sequel, that in my eyes, surpasses the original. The visuals are absolutely stunning in this film, and cinematographer Roger Deakins has really outdone himself. Imagine the visuals of the 1982 classic pumped up to 11.
The story this time around has a much more relatable protagonist in Ryan Gosling's character. Certain aspects of the story are unexpected in a Bladerunner film, but work surprisingly well. Think-Bladerunner meets Her (2013).
The music by Hanz Zimmer perfectly incapsulates the feel of the original, and gives that beautiful atmosphere of the original to the supercharged visuals.
