Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Peyton M — 11 Nov 2017
Blade Runner 2049 does exactly what a good sequel to Blade Runner should do -- continue the story and expand upon the universe the film is set in. I do wish Harrison Ford's character Deckard could have gotten more screen time though.
The trailers and the advertising made it look like he would play a very prominent role, but that is unfortunately not the case when you go see the movie because Deckard doesn't even appear in this film until about 2 hours in, and this movie is 2 hours and 43 minutes long.
I'm not saying that Ryan Gosling's Officer K is a bad character. In fact, I think he's pretty cool and likable, but I don't think he's quite as awesome or as badass as Deckard was in the first movie.
Aside from that, Blade Runner 2049 is one of the best movies I've seen this fall next to Thor: Ragnarok.
