Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Jaime L — 07 Oct 2017
I have to say that while this belated sequel doesn't match the greatness of the original it was still quite the visual spectacle. Ryan Gosling does well as usual though I will say to not be fooled on Harrison Ford being given what appears to be equal billing as he is only in a relatively small part of the film.
Gosling is the focus but his character moves this film and a good thing as the story isn't as tight as the original Blade Runner and I feel as if there were loose threads around when 2049 ended. The themes and supporting cast don't live up to it either.
Tried to continue the "what is human" question but in a more muddled way. Easy to find flaws I suppose but I enjoyed the watch even so, if anyone enjoyed Blade Runner OG then 2049 should be a must watch as well.
