Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Jeisson J — 09 Oct 2017
Aurally, visually, a sensation to shake your thighs and rivet you. What bothered me was the lack of men's penises. Oh we can be shown women's breasts and naked bodies from the front, back and curvy sides but show a penis, god no.
Actually there were a few man roots but they were plastic. A brief stare at the replicants behind glass is the only chance we get to ogle.
Visually, the film is brilliant. There were moments - the back of a head, sparks flying off to the sky - that could be framed and hung on a wall. The sound was industrial womp. You felt it. It brought us in.
We spoiled ourselves. We went to the VIP section and languished in the plush. Lots of leg room and no arm bumping. It really made you an island and since we went on a Tuesday it only cost us the $12.00.
Go, if you like your Sci fi hard-edged and angular covered in dystopian dust.
