Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by James R — 05 Oct 2017

I must confess that I had not seen the original Blade Runner until earlier in the week. It had been on my watch list for the better part of 15 years at least and I had never sat down to watch it. Once I did though I was transported into another world that was a thinking man's game.

This sequel continues that tradition with amazing atmospheres, interesting "new" tech, a great story, and of course the killer soundtrack. There isn't too much to say here without giving it away.

The bottom line is that Blade Runner 2049 is a movie that pays respect to the original while also expanding on the world it was built upon. This is how you do a sequel to a beloved classic correctly.
