Review of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) by Jason T — 05 Oct 2017
This movie needs a good Marcia Lucas edit, if you are deep into film or Star Wars you might get my meaning. To call this a 'Studio Movie' would be a derogatory term IMO when used here; meaning a movie that is too controlled by exec hands which could be one problem.
The movie is overly long, the story interrupted at times by the drawn out process. Perhaps it is fate that there will other shorter better edits. This film needs a Marcia LUCAS to make it stellar because the material is there.
One last thing, since when is it natural to film the actor's face highlighted by unnatural light? No shodow? Why should there be perfect makeup where none would exist in any story besides one with God in it? The Force Awakens had these issues as well, with Rey being in the desert, forest, etc with nice, nice skin.
